Where does Coday keep my data, and how do I get back an item I deleted?
Updated
By default your data is kept on your phone, and you can use Coday without signing in. With Premium, signing in syncs it to the cloud so it's there on a new device too. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted for 30 days: go to You → Settings → Recently Deleted and tap Restore to bring one back. After 30 days it can't be restored.
Where your data is
| Where it's kept | |
|---|---|
| Not signed in | On this device |
| Signed in, no Premium | On this device, not uploaded |
| Signed in with Premium | On this device and synced to the cloud (photos and attachments too); see syncing across devices |
Each account has its own copy on the device, and using Coday without signing in has a separate one. Signing out doesn't delete your items; they're back when you sign in to the same account. Anything you logged before signing in moves into the account when you sign in.
With AI Capture, the screenshot isn't uploaded. Only the recognized text goes to the server to be turned into an item, with names, phone numbers and addresses removed first.
Get back a deleted item
To delete an item, tap "Delete Item" at the bottom of its page. A message then says it moved to Recently Deleted; tap Undo there and it's back.
To get it back later:
- On the You tab, tap Settings, then Recently Deleted.
- Find the item and tap Restore. It comes back to the Home tab with all its entries.
Each item shows how many days are left to restore it.
- Kept for 30 days from the day you deleted it. After that it's gone for good and can't be restored.
- Premium on several devices: something deleted on one device also shows in Recently Deleted on the others, and restoring it on any of them syncs to the rest.
Sample data
"Add sample data" in Settings adds a few sample items so you can see how things look, without touching your own items. Samples stay on this device and never sync to the cloud. When you're done with them, tap "Clear samples" at the bottom of the Home tab.
